Together, we seek food systems that bring fair returns to our small farmers, ranchers, and rural communities; fair working conditions and dignity for farmworkers and food chain workers; protection of Mother Earth now and for our children’s children; safe, adequate, and healthy food for all, especially the elders and youth.
Our Vision & Values
In 1978, Rural Coalition’s charter members came together to address national policies affecting rural people and communities. RC continues work toward two long-range goals:
The development and implementation of policies responsive to rural needs.
The development of the capacities of rural organizations and people to create and sustain institutional and systemic change.
Rural Coalition has worked to ensure that organizations from all regions have the opportunity to work together on the issues that affect us all. The foundation of this work is strong local, regional, and national organizations that work to ensure the involvement of every sector of rural people.
